4PL vs 6PL Logistics: What's the Difference?

A quick recap: 3PL and below
A 1PL moves its own goods; a 2PL is a carrier you hire for one leg; a 3PL (third-party logistics) outsources specific functions like transport, warehousing or clearing to a provider who executes them. Most importers start here, stitching together several 3PLs themselves.
What 4PL means
A 4PL (fourth-party logistics) provider steps above the 3PLs and manages the whole supply chain on your behalf.
